Palm Springs will always be one of our favorite quick getaways and will forever have a special place in my heart. When Thomas and I first started dating (3+ years ago) we were living in Burbank with my father, so alone time was hard to come by! I decided to surprise Tk with a weekend getaway, I booked a room at a cute boutique hotel I found a good deal on, blindfolded him, and drove us to Palm Springs! Little did I know it would be one of our favorite trips we’ve ever taken.
Fast forward to present day! My family has an annual charity golf tournament in Los Angeles that we flew out to attend, and this was the perfect opportunity for us to rent a car and after the tournament was done we headed to our oasis in the desert for some amazing food and relaxation!
Only a two hour drive out of the city and we were in this adorable town in the middle of a barren, dry, blistering hot desert! Palm Springs is all about laying by a pool listening to good music and sipping cold drinks!
We absolutely adore The V Hotel, and booked three nights there this trip! The decor and aesthetic is beyond perfect! Minimal concrete flooring, spacious rooms, flawless white bedding, and incredibly tasteful decor. This hotel feels like the home you wish you had! They have an incredible pool, with massive day beds for lounging, and a super cute poolside bar and restaurant! We arrived around noon on Monday ( July 22nd ) and our check in wasn’t until 3pm however our room was ready and they let us get settled in early! We quickly unpacked and made a plan for the day!
When we travel we typically shoot a ton of content either throughout our trip or all at once! Knowing that we wanted to relax as much as possible we decided to get the majority of our shooting done right away! This Hotel is so aesthetically appealing we shot our first few looks just around the pool area!
After the bulk of our shooting was done we got cleaned up and headed to dinner with our good friends Brooke & Shaun! We chose Trio Restaurant, an American casual fine dining place that has a variety of commonly made dishes that are elevated and refined beautifully!
We started off with a spinach and artichoke dip that was warm and so cheesy I loved every last scoop of it on warm pita and tortilla chips! Tk had an amazing Ceasar salad with freshly shaved parmesan cheese and just the perfect amount of in house made delicious Caesar dressing, Then Thomas and I split the bone in rib eye steak cooked to the perfect medium rare which was served with sour cream mashed potatoes that I will now be dreaming about till next time and creamed spinach that melted in our mouths and was so flavorful. Brooke had their lamb shank which was falling off the bone tender ( I definitely tried a few bites it was beyond amazing) with fresh and seasonal grilled vegetables perfectly sautéed and seasoned. Shaun had the hanger steak with chimichurri sauce that was so flavorful and juicy and freshly made sweet potato fries! Everything was absolutely delicious! I definitely would recommend this place if you’re looking for incredible dishes at a rather affordable price!
We finished off the evening playing some good old fashion Uno Cards and went to bed fairly early to get ahead start on the next day!
Day two was started off at our hands down favorite breakfast spot FARM! This adorable hidden French breakfast and brunch place is worth the wait! (there typically is a wait for a table here, however we got lucky on a Tuesday late morning and they sat us right away)
We indulged in some fresh made mimosas (they offer watermelon, grapefruit, and orange all fresh squeezed) while they prepared our food! We ordered a pretty wide variety of breakfast foods! I got brioche French toast with a strawberry coulee and fresh berries and of course a side of thick cut bacon. The French toast was incredible and is the perfect balance of sweet and acidic from the fresh berries! I didn’t even put syrup on them they were that delicious on there own. Thomas got an amazing omelette which was stuffed with fresh spinach and tons of cheese, (just how he likes it ) hand cut breakfast potatoes and you can’t forget the freshly made in house croissant! Brooke ordered poached eggs that were cooked to perfection the eggs are all farmed locally and the yokes could not have been more golden, with a side of spinach and fresh berries! Shaun also got an omelette, with a side salad, fresh rye toast, and a handmade waffle! Breakfast start to finish was delightful, everything was so fresh and organic! We sat outside which surprisingly was not too warm with all the fans going! ( It was easily 105 degrees outside ) We highly recommend coming to FARM for Breakfast or Brunch if you’re in Palm Springs!
And then we all headed to the hotel pool to get some sun, swim, and relax!
After spending hours in the sun, swimming and tanning we all retired to our rooms to shower and relax. Feeling pretty beat from the heat we decided to order carry out pizza from arguably the best pizza we have ever had in our lives Bill’s Pizza! We got a large white pie and a large Ceasar salad and laid in bed shamelessly and pigged out! The rest of the night consisted of editing on our laptop and phones and watching tv in our room with Brooke and Shaun!
The third day got off to a late start, Brooke and Shaun checked out of the hotel and headed to a near by coffee shop to work on their computers and Thomas and I went and had an early lunch at Wexles Deli at The Arrive Hotel. We both got amazing corn beef sandwiches, that were incredible! The corn beef is made in house and is thick cut and so tender! We also got a side of crinkle cut fries to share that were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and soft in the center and they had my absolute favorite soda Dr. Browns Black Cherry soda!!!
Lunch was amazing and after stopping by Koffi to chat with Brooke & Shaun and grab a cold brew for Thomas’ mid day pick me up we headed back to the hotel to fly the Drone!
Thomas got some amazing aerial shots of the hotel and we shot some more photos of the property and then it was time to lay by the pool once again!
The pool at The V Hotel is perfect! It has a huge shallow area for standing and hanging out and the other half is deeper for swimming and floating around! They also have a poolside bar which not only serves yummy beverages but they also have a small menu of food that is incredibly good! From fish tacos to burgers to salads, everyone can find the perfect poolside dish! ( They are even vegan friendly)
We knew we had an early last morning in Palm Springs so we decided to order in some Chinese food later that night and pack up our bags so we wouldn’t have to in the AM. We had some amazing veggie egg rolls, crab and cream cheese wontons, and chicken fried rice from Wangs Chinese (you know it was really good & we were starving lol when we didn’t take pictures of all of it) and watched our current favorite shows ‘Animal Kingdom’ & ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ while we laid in bed! After spending sometime editing photos and looking at tattoo ideas we went to sleep prepared for a long day of travel to come!
Thursday morning we showered and got the rest of our things together and checked out of our room sadly to leave Palm Springs! This trip was perfect even though we definitely would’ve stayed a few more days if we had more time in California! We loved staying at The V Hotel and can’t wait to come back as soon as possible! The vibes in Palm Springs from the weather to the food are so amazing! We definitely recommend booking your next vacation here!
