We were lucky enough to be invited out to experience The Lights Fest. So we packed a back pack, grabbed our gear, our Ev, and got ready to head out on an adventure. I can honestly say I’ve never experienced any thing quite like this. Being under hundreds of floating lanterns in the middle of no where with each other, our best friend, and, a few new faces was a truly movie moment. If you’re just here for the drone shots of the lanterns skip to the end of our video. And we hope you guys enjoy the edit and go out to make some of your own movie moments.
The Lights Fest is an experience where thousands of friends and families gather to listen to live music, fill up on great food and light up life (and the night sky) by releasing lanterns into the sky after everyone has drawn, written, and decorated their lanterns. At the perfect moment, everyone ignites their personalized sky lanterns with Tiki torches and lets them take flight. It creates a surreal ambiance, where time slows down as your single flame rises with thousands of others. It truly was an incredible experience!
The lights fest is dedicated to leaving a positive impact on the environment and everyone who attends our event. This is an event that is for everyone but cultivates individual experiences. Whether you’re commemorating or celebrating, you’re creating a special memory that will last a lifetime.
Now I know what you’re thinking…I thought the same thing too “doesn’t this litter the planet?” No! It does not! The lanterns they use and specifically designed to go up and then come right back down rather quickly. This means that you get to enjoy your lantern take flight take pictures and film amazing videos and then 15-20 feet away in what ever direction the wind is blowing they all come down! The staff that works The Lights Fest before you can even gather your things to leave is already cleaning everything up! They are also using lanterns made out of recycled material and they are also biodegradable (so gosh forbid one is missed it is not polluting the earth).
They had live music, tons of different food trucks and a large open field to get comfortable and decorate your lanterns! It was a very organized and check in was quick and easy! You hand them your ticket, they give you a wristband, a lantern and a marker to use, and you’re on your way to enjoy the evening eating, dancing, and simply enjoying life! They have tiki torches in perfect rows up and down the field, so when the sun goes down and its time to send up your lantern its quick and easy!
If you haven’t been to an event like this before, I highly recommend going! The Lights Fest happens all over the country all year round and tickets are very affordable!
